Hearing Aids
In order to keep your hearing aids functioning properly,
they will require regular care. Since they spend all day inside your
ear, where earwax, moisture and skin flakes can accumulate, it’s
important to clean them regularly. These tips should keep your hearing
aids working smoothly:
• Moisture will damage the electronics in your hearing aids. Do
not wash your hearing aids with water or allow them to become wet –
remember to remove them when swimming or showering.
• When not in use, it’s a good idea to leave the battery
door open; this will allow built-up moisture inside to dry out.
• Keep your hearing aids free from earwax and other debris by
cleaning them daily. You can remove earwax by wiping the device down
with a soft tissue or cloth. Built up wax can be removed with a small
brush such as a toothbrush.
• Do not expose your hearing aids to extreme temperature. It’s
generally not a good idea to leave them in your car on especially hot
days.
